The challenge

Most navigation quietly assumes a signal. Drive past the last tower on an outback run or a road-train haul and the map that was guiding you goes blank exactly where you need it most. The country where you most need navigation is the country where reception is not coming.

What we built

Glovebox carries what it needs so the signal dropping changes nothing: maps, routing, fuel range and road conditions that keep rendering with no bars. A passing tower's signal fades to nothing, the world stutters for half a beat, and the painted line to the horizon keeps drawing, because everything the trip needs it already holds.

The drop-out is the demo

You cannot prove offline navigation with a screenshot. You prove it by watching the bars vanish and the next road sign still know its distance. Glovebox is built so that moment is uneventful.

How we worked

Glovebox is offline-first by architecture, not as a fallback. The quiet flex of the product is the drop-out itself: the demo is the moment the signal dies and the map keeps working. Navigation stays free forever.

What it adds up to

The web app is live at glovebox.ecodia.au; both native rebuilds are in testing.

The offline-first design means the map keeps routing with zero reception, which is the whole point in outback Australia.

A CarPlay entitlement is granted, so the map reaches the dashboard where a driver actually needs it.
