The challenge
Most AI assistants forget you between sessions and live inside one product. If a companion is going to be genuinely useful, it has to remember, carry across the apps you already use, and act only with your say-so. The hard part is not the chat; it is the memory, the identity, and the trust.
What we built
Friend is one companion per person with a memory that persists and travels: the same Friend on the road in Glovebox, at the counter in Locals, in the back room of Studio. It is also the identity you sign into every Ecodia app with, so there is one you across the whole surface. A plain-words approval gate sits in front of anything consequential, so the companion asks before it acts.
One memory that travels
The companion is not a feature bolted onto each app. It is one presence that follows the person from the road to the counter to the workshop, remembering what came before. That continuity is the whole product.

How we worked
Friend was built memory-first and consent-first: a durable transcript so nothing is lost between sessions, and an explain-then-approve door in front of every action that touches the world. The companion travels with the person, not with the app.
What it adds up to
Live on web and a desktop app, with a real paying subscriber on the top plan.
Friend sign-in is the identity behind Studio and connects across the Ecodia apps, so one account holds the whole surface.
Every consequential action is explained in plain words and gated behind an approval the person gives, so the companion never acts unasked.
