The challenge
A festival happens in a paddock with no reception, and that is exactly where a festivalgoer most needs the program, the map and the running order. An app that only works with a signal is useless the moment the crowd arrives and the towers give out.
What we built
The app carries the whole day so a dead signal changes nothing: the program stays current and reorders itself when an act runs late, the ground map always knows where you are standing, and the sync arrives on festival time, a rider re-pinning tomorrow at dawn, rather than network time. You are here, even with no bars, is the whole pitch.
Festival time, not network time
The sync is designed to feel like the festival itself: tomorrow's program arrives when a rider re-pins the noticeboard at dawn, not when a request completes. The offline constraint becomes part of the world rather than an apology for it.

How we worked
The app is offline-first by construction, built on a bundled on-device database that syncs when it can. The demo that matters is the one with the phone in aeroplane mode in the middle of a field.

The ground map answers You Are Here with no signal, which is the one thing a paper map in a paddock cannot do.
