Build Now

Ecodia Monthly Build: full terms

How a Build Now project works, start to finish: the build, the price and how you pay it, who owns what and when, owning it early, what happens if you stop, what the monthly covers, and life once it's paid off.

Version 1.0. Published 24 October 2026.

Offered by Ecodia Pty Ltd, ACN 693 123 278. Each build's scope, fixed total price and monthly figure are set in writing before you commit to anything.

1. The build

1.1

A full custom build scoped to your organisation: web app, iOS/Android app, member or community platform, bookings and events, CRM or admin tool, or a website with real custom functionality.

1.2

We write a scope and a fixed total price before you commit to anything. You sign off both the scope and the finished build before it goes live.

1.3

The build timeline is set in the scope before we start.

2. Price and payment

2.1

One fixed total price per build, agreed in writing up front, based on the size of what you need. It doesn't change unless you ask for work beyond that scope.

2.2

You pay it off monthly, from $300 + GST a month for a small build. Larger builds are a higher fixed monthly, set the same way.

2.3

Your monthly figure is fixed. Paid in advance, by card or direct debit, GST added, invoiced each month. First month is due when you sign.

2.4

No minimum term and no lock-in. You can stop any month.

3. Ownership

3.1

While you're paying it off, you hold a licence to use the live software. Ecodia owns the source code and intellectual property until the build is paid in full.

3.2

Your organisation's own data is always yours. You can export a full copy any time, free, whether you're subscribed or not.

3.3

Ownership of the source code and IP transfers to you the moment the build is paid off, whether you get there through the monthly or by settling the balance early.

4. Owning it early

4.1

Settle the remaining balance any time and the build is yours outright, source code and IP included.

4.2

That balance is never more than the fixed price you already agreed, minus what you've paid. No early-exit penalty, just the part you haven't paid for yet.

4.3

How long payoff takes depends on your agreed price and your monthly. On the $300 floor a small build is typically clear in a couple of years; pay more a month and you own it sooner.

5. If you stop paying

5.1

No penalty and no debt pursued. You simply don't own the build yet, so the live software is taken offline after a 14-day grace period.

5.2

Payments already made aren't refunded. They covered the hosting, support and build work up to that point.

5.3

You can resume, or buy out the balance, at any time.

6. Included while you subscribe

6.1

Hosting, maintenance, security updates, bug fixes and support, all inside the monthly.

6.2

Genuine third-party costs are passed on at cost and itemised, never marked up: an Apple developer account ($99/yr) and Google ($25 one-off) for mobile apps, and text or email sending credits if your build sends them.

6.3

New features beyond the agreed scope are quoted separately and built only once you say yes.

7. Once it's paid off

7.1

You own it outright. From there you only pay to keep it running: hosting and infrastructure at cost, plus the basic upkeep any live app needs (security patches and the OS updates Apple and Google require for a mobile app). A fraction of the monthly.

7.2

Optional retainer if you want us to keep improving it or be on call for changes, from an agreed monthly amount scoped to what you want.

7.3

Or take the source code and run it yourself. We help you hand it over.

8. No surprises

8.1

No hidden fees, no automatic increases. The only thing that moves your total is new work you ask for.
