There's no roadmap for revolutions
.
We're charting a course through both familiar waters and uncharted seas. While some of our tools are tested (sustainable systems, circular economies, community building) our destination exists beyond most people's imagination.
That's why we created our own path forward.
Our near-future crown jewel? Australia's first purpose-driven eco-district. But getting there means building revolutionary platforms and programs that have never existed before.
The eco-district isn't just our biggest project... It's bigger than anything the world has seen, and the most exciting part is that It's just the beginning.
This is evolution.
When we see rubbish on the side of the road, we don't just walk past it. When they say "someone should do something about that," we become that someone. When they tell us "that's just how the world works," we start building a different world.
We're a conscious, intentional, and rational community of people from all walks of life, coming together to ensure a better future for people, planet, and youth.
But what does that actually mean?
It means we stopped waiting for permission to make change. It means we rejected the idea that profit matters more than people. It means we're building something that no one thought was possible, in ways no one thought would work, in such a short time that no one saw it coming.
Originally, Ecodia was named "Reversing P.O.P.P.Y", which stood for "Reversing Profit, Over People, Planet and Youth." This was an ironic gesture in reference to reversing the order in which most of the world prioritises parts of our society today.
Wanting to make the cause more appealing, Tate moved to a more accessible branding scheme, whilst still holding the primary idea, a critique on modern society: Ecodia
Before becoming an official organisation, Tate was a massive advocate for environmental, social, economic and political revolution. Channelling this passion, (and not wanting to get arrested for more erratic means of change) Tate decided to go down the path of organised revolution, through supportive, sustainable and positive change-making.
